The National Environmental Summaries portal is meant to ensure consistency and focus for the different national teams preparing their countries' respective environmental summaries as inputs into the Common Country Assessment process. It provides an on-line tool for all actors in the national environmental situation analysis to participate, leading to the production of NES; from the sector focal points collecting information, the Data working group compiling the data/Indicator matrix, through to the designers and publishers of the finished product. The portal will thus streamline the presentation of data gathered, analyzed, and interpreted at the sectoral level, and its integration at the national level. It has been developed to harmonize writing styles, provide guidance on the drafting process, illustrations and visualization, and references, and to streamline the reviewing process.
