THE REPORT

The report explores the key environmental issues for 2020 in an attempt to show common links and environmental, economic, social, technological and awareness challenges. It provides an analysis of the transformational sustainable development paths and policies to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and other internationally agreed environmental targets while highlighting the gaps between commitments and achievements. Therefore, this report sheds light on the challenges, obstacles and structural problems in all sustainable development dimensions, and identifies the necessary policies to deal with them, with an emphasis on future directives to ensure their implementation on the ground. It also underlines the role of the youth and the integration of society with its all its sects, especially women, in the field of environment to achieve sustainable and equitable development, highlighting the important role played by unions, cooperatives, the private and civil sectors, and other non-governmental institutions.

EGYPT-SOERS

Egypt-SOERS enables national teams involved in the state of the environment reporting process to access the national indicators database as well as the SDGs framework database. The module enables the user to develop their report structure, assign the authors and reviewers, and draft the chapters. The module further helps national teams strengthen their capacity for conducting integrated environmental assessment reports through its comprehensive training portal. The interactive portal aimed at assisting in the development of SOE reports provides an array of features and tools related to SDGs and SD indicators. It would allow government institutions to visualize, analyse, and interact with data related to SDGs and their respective target indicators.
