In the case of Abu Dhabi –UAE for example, a technical team task force committee was established

by the environment authority to advise and support the participatory process (Figure 7). Members
of the council were mainly representatives of the government and private sector.

In order to have a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the main parties in
the institutional framework, we provide a brief explanation of the role of the lead institution,

the local technical team, collaborating centres and national partner organizations, and other
stakeholders.
