If it is not possible to download and print the data, participants could complete the exercises by using
information on climate change listed in Table 6. If the training is conducted with participants from one
country or with focus on neighboring countries with similar climate change issues, local experts could
be invited to provide a short (15 min) presentation on climate change impacts before Exercise 3.
Finally, we would also suggest that the facilitators assess the audience’s knowledge of climate change at
the early stages of the workshop. If the audience is knowledgeable about the basic definitions, and major
past and present impacts, then the facilitator could proceed directly to the first chapter, Characteristics
of Vulnerability and Scope of the Assessment.
