Water quality in the Bay is deteriorated; increases of sewage discharge from near by treated
sewage plants, total nitrogen phosphorous and total coliform bacteria (TCP)concentration
are above the acceptable water quality standers. Total Suspended Particulates (TSP) content
is high especially in the southern end of the bay where five sand wash plants are located.
A serious negative Impact on Tubli ecosystem such as eutrophication, degradation of commercial
fish catches, decrease in the quality of recreational use of the bay, those impacts are affecting
human well-being.
Responces: There has been considerable public concern raised over the continuouse
shrikage of the bay area and deterioration of Tubli bay ecosystem. A mix of policies has been
taken by the government among them cut out illegal disposal activities, put standered for
the waste water outfall frome sewage treatment plants and muddy water discharge from
sandwash plants, and declareat Tubli bay as a marine protected area. Recently and after
several fish kill insidence the government starts to take steps to clean the bay and ensure
the natural flow of the current and water from the main sea in it.
